Momčilo (Moma) Aleksandrić is a classical guitarist from Serbia. After winning the first prize at the prestigious Hong Kong Altamira International Guitar Competition in 2018, Moma has been invited to give concerts, lectures and master-classes across the world. He appeared at events such as the Thailand International Guitar Festival, Hong Kong International Guitar Forum, ShenZhen Fuge International Guitar Week, Melbourne International Guitar Conference, Universidad Nacional of Costa Rica International Artist Series, ZhenJiang International Guitar Festival, and many others. Lately he also became a prize winner at the Miami International GuitART Festival, Guitar Foundation of America Ensemble Competition, Southern Guitar Festival Ensemble Competition, University of Rhode Island Rising Guitar Stars Program, and many others.
He is among the distinctive guitarists who aim to merge the classical guitar performance with various research in music theory and musicology. In 2019, the Guitar Foundation of America’s Soundboard Magazine published his research on Miguel Llobet’s Variaciones sobre un Tema de Sor. In addition, he presented his research papers and lecture recitals on Fernando Sor, Miguel Llobet, Benjamin Britten and Leo Brouwer at the University of Melborune (2019), Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (2018), Florida International University (2018), University of Indianapolis (2017), University of Cincinnati (2017), and many others.
He is a co-founder of Belgrade Guitar District non-profit and he contributed to the organization of their five concert seasons and recordings of lesser known guitar repertoire published on YouTube. He is an ambassador of Altamira Guitars (China) and plays on a guitar made by Hanson Yao. He studied guitar with Aleksandar Hadzi-Djordjevic, Srdjan Tosic, and Maja Radovanlija.
