Gerhard Reichenbach (1965) is one of the leading european guitar virtuosos. Since 40 years he is touring as a soloist and together with orchestras being invited to all the important international guitar festivals, but also to prestigious concert halls like the Berliner Philharmonie or the International House of Music in Moscow.
Having a very large actice repertoire of about 35 different solo programmes, he is among experts considered to also be one of the most sophisticated and brilliant performers of baroque music on the classical guitar.
His playing has been compared with masters like Andres Segovia, John Williams or Glenn Gould. He had been teaching guitar as professor at the Music Academy Franz Liszt in Weimar and at the Thessaloniki State Conservatory.
Since 2009 he is full professor and head of the guitar department of the Cologne University of Munich. Many of his students became successful soloists, guitar professors and teachers worldwide.
